Landscape Painting - Claire Wiltsher
November 4th - 28th

Claire Wiltsher has been developing a new body of work inspired by the mood, textures and atmosphere of British landscape. Her works are connected to a range of different locations across Britain, which are initially connected to her love of walking. She now lives in the New Forest where she is also working from local sources.

The work includes oil paint and mixed media on canvas. Sometimes flat subjects from location are mixed with bits of collage within the painting. Surface texture and different pictorial spaces are created using this media. The work in this exhibition relates to Landscape.

"I want my paintings to tell different stories about a place using obvious and created symbols. Images and shapes appear then fade as a new section of the picture comes in to play. Total recognition inhibits the imagination."
