ohn Garland�s forthcoming exhibition �Industrial Remains and Urban Change� comprises his latest works including painting, drawings and mixed media. Garland�s works are composites of surviving photographs, observation and artistic interpretation of Bristol�s industrial landscape, revealing a deep interest in the social and industrial factors that sculpt our ever changing cityscape.

Garland studied painting, sculpture and education at the Bath Academy of Art 1956�1958. He later went on to lecture at Filton College where he taught three-dimensional studies, art history and related studies. After retiring from full time teaching in 1991, John has committed his time to the studio producing works that reflect his passion for painting as well as technical skill.
