16th July 1st August

Kids Culture Collaboration is an innovative exhibition and the culmination of a year working with children in the UK and Zambia. It brings together the childrens work in a colourful and vibrant display including; a huge tapestry, banners made from Zambian fabrics, an African wishing tree, photographs and films. Creative Kids international will also be running workshops for children at the Grant Bradley Gallery while the exhibition is on please contact the gallery for further information.

Having recently returned from working in Zambia (Africa), Creative Kids International are about to showcase childrens art work from Zambia and Knowle Park Primary School in an exciting and colourful art exhibition Kids Culture Collaboration at the Grant Bradley Gallery, Bedminster, Bristol.

In Lusaka, Zambias capital city, Creative Kids International spent 5 months working with Barefeet Theatre who work with vulnerable street children as well as two local schools. During their time in Zambia Creative Kids International ran regular art workshops at childrens centres and at Ngombe Open Community School; an arts week at Lusaka International Community School; made the visuals and costumes for a colourful and vibrant carnival procession through the streets of Lusaka with over 2000 children; and made the set, props and costumes for the Barefeet Christmas production Edward Scissorhands: The Story of Snow which was performed last December at Zambias national theatre, The Lusaka Playhouse.

Since returning from Zambia earlier this year Creative Kids International have been running workshops with children in the UK, including an African Arts Week at Knowle Park Primary School in April. Through the arts Creative Kids International are building a link between children in both countries, offering a chance for them to learn about each others countries and cultures, and raising awareness of some of the issues faced by children in Zambia.
