Three 23rd March - 3rd May 2007 An Exhibition of Images by Rebecca Howard, Emma Dibben and Tim Lane Preview 5th April 7-9pm |
Three An exhibition of drawings and paintings by three artists who all graduated from Falmouth College of Arts three years ago. Although trained as illustrators. This exhibition offers a welcome chance to showcase some of their self-initiated artworks which reveal their personal inspirations and interestingly their divergent styles. Rebecca Howard Rebecca uses her background in children's illustration to create a series of paintings focused on the architecture of Bristol. Each piece draws attention to the interaction between the buildings and the people who use them. We are reminded that they are man-made environments, designed for people, but not always used for the purpose they were created. www.rebecca-howard.co.uk Emma Dibben Emma works as a professional illustrator for a wide range of clients. This exhibition is a chance to explore her personal work. She looks at the fascinating habits of the insect world and draws parallels with human activity. From the disgusting to the awe inspiring, she attempts to show the ugliness and beauty of mankind through the alien beauty of the insect world. www.emmadibben.com Tim Lane This exhibition provides a venue to show some of Tim's own paintings and drawings. The work is mainly figurative and concerned with capturing the subtlety of human interaction. In this series it is revealed through the connective quality of music and the joyous togetherness of celebratory occasions as well as in our culture responses to death. www.timlane.co.uk |
